ALBATROSS NIGHT FALL / MIND WALLS (II)
Each mouth open and round Breathing together As fish do Singing Without sound
Dearest see my dark girl Over the passing lighthouse Its shell as rusty As a camp Fragile as a pagoda On a stone
That warns me of drawning winds That run over blind bottom And its blue cover wing
That will take the toes And the ears of the rider Or the lover There go my dark girl In the leeward hair Lighter tan flying dogs Or the breath of dolphins
My dark girl sing for this They are going up See them rise On black wings Drinking Looking at the sky ... Without smiles or hands Or shoes They call back to us From the deepest Edge Of the sea
